A native Houstonian, Pastor Terrance H. Johnson, frequently referred to as Pastor J, is known throughout the country as a premier preacher with extraordinary gifts in biblical exposition, interpretation, and proclamation. He is a graduate of American Baptist College in Nashville, TN where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Sociology.
In early 1997, Pastor Johnson received a call from God to organize Higher Dimension Church. Then on April 4, 1999, Higher D and its 29 founding members held its first worship service. Over 500 individuals were present to witness this monumental celebration! Since its inception, God has continued to enlarge Higher D’s territory at a phenomenal rate. Currently, over 12,000 saints gather each Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to learn of God and celebrate His blessings.

In December 1999, Pastor Johnson purchased 6.64 acres of land to erect a $4 million dollar edifice. In record time, just one year later, God allowed Higher D to burn the mortgage for the land. Under Pastor Johnson’s leadership, Higher Dimension has continued to be an awesome display of what God can do through consistent commitment, courage, and continued prayer.

Houston recognizes Pastor Johnson as one of its top leaders. Distinguished as a community pioneer in redevelopment of impoverished areas, he is geared to meet the spiritual, social, physical, and economic needs of its people.

A true visionary for change, Pastor Johnson has implemented what he refers to as a “5 Fold Vision.” The first phase includes the sanctuary at 9800 Club Creek. The second is T. H. Johnson Ministries, which provides audio and video resources as well as scholarships to high school seniors in pursuit of higher education, and the third phase is NXL Inc., the community redevelopment arm. This faith-based initiative will provide family living, recreation, career development, and counseling. The fourth phase provides internal as well as external business consulting services, and lastly, the implementation of Higher Learning Academy which is an educational facility providing Christian Education for children (pre-school through 12th grade).

Pastor Johnson believes spiritual commitment and personal involvement is the key to ending the revolving doors in our faith-based communities. He has fully committed his heart and life to Jesus, compelling other young adults to do the same. He encourages believers to never settle, to acquire the necessary skills to promote spiritual growth, to develop the right attitude which facilitates godly wisdom, and to take their prayer, faith, giving, worship, service, and praise to the next level.
In June of 2008, Pastor Johnson was inducted into the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship as the Young Adult Overseer. Pastor Johnson sees this as a significant honor, and also a paramount opportunity to minister to young adults peppered throughout various congregations nationally and internationally!

Pastor Johnson serves as Advisor on the Chair of Religious Affairs, sitting on the Board of Directors for the Missouri City/Fort Bend Chapter of the NAACP. This is just the beginning of Pastor Johnson’s ministerial influence within this organization; he has the potential to be one of the nation’s most recognized chairmen because of his astonishing ability to reach the younger generation.
