On last Monday’s prayer call from Luke 13:8-9, Pastor J blessed us with a message “Turning Things Around”. He said to do this we must first admit that things have gone wrong, second we must choose to change (change your mind, change your life), and third remember that God will give us another chance.

When we know right from wrong and willingly do wrong anyway, we will be held accountable for our actions. Yes you will be forgiven, but don’t think for a second that you will not have to face the consequences for your disobedience. God is not sleep! Admit that you have done wrong. God already knows what you did, or thought about doing anyway. Obedience is better than sacrifice. For some reason, people seem to keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again. The first time is a mistake, any time after that has become a habit. We live and learn from our mistakes not to go back down that same road again.

God is truly a forgiving god! He will give us another chance to get back on track and live our lives according to His will and not our own. We all should be grateful that God is a god of another chance, and not just a second chance, because if the truth be told some of us would have messed up the second chance years ago. We should not take His grace and mercy for granted.

Reflecting on one of Pastor J’s principles in one of His past sermons, he said, “What everybody else is doing, you do the opposite.” (Roman 12:2 – Do not be conformed of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.)

Are you willing to turn away from worldly things and be submissive to God’s will? And remember, “Don’t settle, take your life to the next level.” Be blessed, Higher D!
